Uranus turns direct in three days. At this point all traditional planets - assuming Uranus, Neptune and Pluto fall under traditional definitions - move in prograde motion. Generally, astrologers might assume the galactic forces apply generous and ample grease to the gears for this direct motion run. This effect lasts until April Fool’s Day, when Mercury stations in preparation for the next mord-wix era.
Pluto, now in Aquarius, feels as if the underworld lord spins favorable winds and improves collective ambience. Uranus, virtually direct, inspires a fed-up look at conditions intending to inspire significant and enduring change(s). What could be gleaned from a time when gears silently and efficiently do their thing in the machine of life? Is the potential of this time an era when progress that leads to personal evolution may readily occur with one’s conscious application of transits in life? Indubitably.
For chill time after a long day of astrologizing and film preparation, a documentary series on Turner Class Movies, The Power of Film, caught my eye. Presented by UCLA professor, Howard Suber, this series alleges to be about why films stick in our memory. However, Suber, using film to make his points, spends a good amount of time on the distinctions between Fate and Destiny. Suber contends they are not interchangeable, despite dictionary declarations that make such a claim. He states that Fate is the set of inherited conditions that impact a person’s life from birth - much like the slog of past life memories one seeks to untangle in a life time. Destiny, notes Suber, is a force that can be influenced by ones determined actions in life. Those who pursue destiny-driven heroics or in hero’s journey sort of way, do so by hitting a decision point in which one decides to rock the collective boat regardless of cost. Those fed up, reach a tipping point, and engage life in an all-bets-are-off manner.
Cool. Sounds like Uranus and Pluto. Now with Uranus’ pivot and the planets agreeing to pull in prograde directions, this could be, might be, promises to be, a time when advancements can be more easily achieved. Those advances may support personal destiny drives. In case early year sluggishness prevails, take a moment to reset and remember that in April, Jupiter and Uranus convene in Taurus. Soon thereafter, Jupiter jumps into Gemini and opposes the plethora of galactic entities in Sagittarius. For those shifting things around to fulfill destiny and pursue dharma, 2024 and 2025 could be a great haul.
To make changes, first a realization that the way things stand represents an unsatisfying set of circumstances must be envisioned. Truly, one day the influence of Uranus, rings out with a resounding peal that shakes all sensibilities. The situation at hand simply will not do. Change for the better must be installed. And to do this, a healthy, cantankerous discontent serves the purposes of shifting gears... perhaps even creating a revolution of sorts.
The I-Ching states a protocol for creating massive changes. First, the realization that change is required appears... courtesy of Uranus perchance. Second, the time for the change must be ripe. Third, the response of those influenced by the change must be favorable. The proverbial pump must be primed. Then, one must assess their motive. One must be filled with selfless intent. Finally, the change must be calculated to create good for the collective... the banner that Pluto holds for the next two decades or so (with a brief interruption this fall to recall the Capricornish, plutocratic circumstances that must change) - do and be good for all.
Then there’s Pluto. He’s all about a revelation that what it takes to get to a stronger station in life and exert ones influence fully is irresistible and totally worth doing! Like Uranus, Pluto has a few considerations before offering assistance to a mortal. If he does take a fancy to someone, he becomes insanely generous and helpful beyond measure. Here’s his the part of his check list that can be revealed prior to engagement:
There must be no plundering in Pluto’s realm.
Be amazingly clear about why you’re doing what you’re doing. Intent is everything.
Are you really willing to engage, or are you simply snapping selfies in hell on what you perceive as holiday?
In for the duration, are you? No matter what? Without exception or condition?
Can you accept the hugeness of what all this might become? Also, can you cope with what this may mean to life as you previously knew it?
If so, engage with Pluto. Seize your personal power in times when the going is more groovy than usual and apply same without limitation. Like now, for instance. The time is ripe and the world is ready. As Pluto notes with a wink, “There are no reservations in the underworld. My man, Charon out there, will check your worthiness. If all good, he’ll raise the velvet rope for you to pass.”
Is this a time of destiny? Sure, as are all times, truly. It’s just that now things may be easier than one imagines achieving the greater objectives in life. And there’s only one way to find out. Recognize when shifts are required. Engage. Seize your personal power and shimmer as Pluto does when warmed by the Sun.
